Site of discovery
Lindow man was discovered on the 1st of August 1984. The location of discovery was the Lindow moss, a peat bog in Wilmslow Cheshire, England. The body of Lindow man was discovered by one of the workers at the site, who was having a joke with the other workers by throwing a piece of peat at them, only it was not just peat he threw but a foot of an ancient bog body. The police were called and then archaeologists were summoned. The rest of Lindow man's body was soon discovered afterwards.
